The Geological History of Arches National Park and Surrounding Regions
Arches National Park (ANP) contains the highest concentration of natural arches on Earth, with over 2,000 spread across its stunning landscape. This abundance is due to unique geologic conditions that have shaped not only ANP but also the surrounding region. If you’ve ever wondered why so many arches are found in this area or why oil and gas are produced here, this presentation will provide an- swers by exploring the subsurface geology that contributed to these formations. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the processes that created this incredible landscape. ANP’s beauty is so iconic that Delicate Arch proudly represents our state on one of our license plate options!
